Michael Candela graduated summa cum laude from Villanova University with a double major in History and Political Science. He was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa National Honors Society, a member and president of the History Honor Society, Phi Alpha Theta, a member of the Political Science Honor Society, Phi Sigma Alpha, and a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

Michael graduated cum laude from Pace University School of Law and was a member of the Pace International Law Review. While at Pace, he served as an Articles Editor for the Pace International Law Review and authored an article published by the Pace International Law Review entitled "Judicial Notification: A Simple Solution to Ensure Compliance with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations."

Prior to joining McLaughlin & Zerafa, LLP, Michael worked for a small Trusts and Estates firm that focused on Estate Planning, Estate Administration and Estate Litigation. While there, Michael also published numerous articles in the New York State Bar Association Trusts and Estates Section Quarterly Newsletter, Westchester County Bar Association Newsletter and the Westchester County Bar Journal.

Michael is licensed to practice law in both New York and Connecticut and is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Trust and Estate Section, Westchester County Bar Association and the Westchester Women's Bar Association. Michael is from Larchmont, but currently lives in New York City with his wife, Sarah.
